Pro voluptate volamus! Microlighting is not only about flying; it encompasses a buzzing social side. If you become a student at Otherton you automatically become a member of Staffordshire Aero Club who are a friendly and welcoming bunch of people who share a love of flying. As a member you will receive the monthly newsletter by post or email which will keep you up to date with forthcoming fly ins, competitions and social activities. Our local club meeting is held on the first Thursday of every month at The Hayling Dene Centre, Cannock Road, Penkridge. The meetings are open to all members and their partners. Our club motto is “Pro Voluptate Volamus” which translates as “we fly for fun”, and that’s what we do! The school is BMAA/CAA registered and has instructors for both flex-wing and fixed-wing microlight tuition. The club house is currently being refurbished, but will boast not only tea and coffee making facilities but a newly furnished lounge and viewing area for visitors.
